John Sofarelli

As President and CEO for the organization, John is responsible for the overall vision and culture of the company. As founder of J. Raymond Construction, John is a fourth-generation contractor with over 40 years of construction industry experience. John is a certified general contractor in the states of Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee currently. In addition, he currently holds a Florida Real Estate license and is a LEED Accredited Professional. John also leads the strategic planning for the company and is continually focused on the development of our most important asset, our people.


Russ Suddeth

Senior Vice President/Owner

As Senior Vice President/Owner for J. Raymond Construction, Russ leads the charge for operations for the company with a focus on meeting the needs of our clients. Russ has over 30 years of experience in the industry in several markets including retail, grocery, mixed use, manufacturing, distribution, hospitality and healthcare projects. He provides sound leadership for the company and a strong ability to provide different perspectives to the day to day challenges of our business. He always has the client’s best interests in mind at all times. He and John, as founding members of J. Raymond Construction continue to provide the leadership and guidance to the team, their families and the community.


Jon Roemer

Vice President Preconstruction Services/Partner

As Vice President of Preconstruction, Jon and his team serve the needs of both current and prospective clients by providing pro-forma development, detailed conceptual budgeting and partnering with our subcontractor teams to ensure we are able to deliver the most accurate estimates. Jon’s team utilizes the latest technology including PlanSwift, Agtek and the Building Connected platform to ensure budgets are thorough. Jon also leads the estimating staff, VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) and BIM teams to meet the needs of our clients. Additionally, Jon is a LEED Accredited Professional.


Dan Cramer

Vice President /Partner

As Vice President/Partner for J. Raymond Construction, Dan is focused on construction operations and the timely delivery of projects to our clients. With over 25 years of construction industry experience Dan is able to lead our project teams through scheduling, coordination, performance and administration of our projects. He’s able to work with our clients to provide mutually beneficial solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. Dan also leads the company’s focus on policies and procedures internally and ensuring our internal systems are current and meet the needs of our project teams and clients.


Tom Borgia

Chief Financial Officer /Partner

As CFO /Partner for J. Raymond Construction, Tom is responsible for managing the financial operations for the company including forecasting, budgeting and planning. He also leads the investing, banking and accounting activities for J. Raymond Construction. In addition Tom leads our risk management program, including property and casualty insurances and bonding needs. Tom also oversees the Human Resource and IT Departments and is responsible for the companies 401k/Profit Sharing plan. With 20 years of construction industry experience, Tom, provides sound guidance and direction for the operations team, while being focused on risk management initiatives and seeking out the most effective ways to serve our clients.


Scott Mellen

Senior Project Manager /Partner

As Sr. Project Manager/Partner for J. Raymond Construction, Scott’s primary focus is construction operation and timely delivery to our clients. Scott has over 25 years of industry experience and has worked in many different markets including, retail, grocery anchored shopping centers, free standing multi-story buildings, department stores and expansions of existing structures. Scott has completed well over 3.5 million square feet of construction with a total value of over 350 million dollars. Scott’s responsibilities include working with our project management staff in the areas of quality assurance, scheduling and manpower as well as overseeing cost control.


Adam Spiewak

Senior Project Manager /Partner

As Senior Project Manager/Partner for J. Raymond Construction, Adam manages multiple projects for the company out of the South Florida office. Adam will monitor and support field office activities for a wide array of projects and owners. Adam is always willing to roll up his sleeves and get involved in any project he’s involved with. He continually seeks to satisfy client needs and ensure our projects are delivered on time. Adam has worked with many different clients and retails across the southeast and has been requested by many different clients to personally manage their projects.
